Senior Accountant (Commercial Accounting) - Work from home

The Senior Accountant will support the financial performance and control of the organisation across its multi-entity operations. This is a hands-on, commercially focused role responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong balance sheet integrity, and providing meaningful financial insights to support executive and operational decision-making.

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and performance commentary.
• Maintain ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting deadlines.
• Support preparation of Board and Executive reporting packs with clear financial analysis and insights.
• Assist with annual statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes with detailed analysis and commercial insight.
• Execute month-end and year-end close processes in line with reporting timetables.
• Support transactional finance functions (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations) ensuring appropriate controls are applied.
• Assist with audit processes and statutory reporting requirements.
• Apply strong financial controls and support governance across the organisation.
• Partner with operational leaders to translate financial results into actionable insights.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.
• Other position-level duties as they arise.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• CA or CPA qualified (or near completion).
• 5-7+ years’ commercial accounting experience within multi-entity, hospitality, retail, or similar operational environments.
• Strong hands-on experience in month-end close, balance sheet ownership, and management reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to provide commercial insight to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience working in regulated or high-volume transactional environments (advantageous).
• Advanced Excel capability, including financial modelling.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with practical application of AASB standards.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and accountability.
• Ability to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative finance team environment.
