Your Mission: Design the Lasers of Tomorrow
We're searching for a brilliant Semiconductor Laser Designer to become a cornerstone of our photonics development team. Based in our vibrant Ottawa hub, you'll be instrumental in designing and developing cutting-edge laser sources, collaborating with a global network of experts, and constantly expanding your skillset in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
Pioneer Laser Design: Drive the design, simulation, testing, and in-depth analysis of next-generation semiconductor lasers using state-of-the-art software.
Innovate & Document: Develop and meticulously maintain crucial design and requirements documentation.
Define Fabrication Excellence: Take ownership of defining critical fabrication processes and crafting precise mask layouts.
Analyze & Optimize: Conduct rigorous data and failure analysis to push the boundaries of performance.
Who You Are:
You're a hands-on expert with a passion for photonics and a proven track record in:
Advanced Simulation: Deep experience in simulating active photonic devices.
Expertise in III-Vs: Experience working with GaAs and/or InP based material systems.
CAD Mastery: Proficient in computer-aided design and layout of lithographic masks for active photonic device fabrication.
Characterization Guru: Skilled in optoelectronic device characterization, testing, and analysis.
Metrology & Lab Savvy: Experienced in designing and assembling optical metrology setups, with strong hands-on lab skills in laser optical characterization, verification, and testing.
Your Credentials:
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on III-V optoelectronic devices.
