Role Summary
The Self-Climbing Platform Engineer is responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and efficient self-climbing platform (SCP) designs to support project and construction requirements. The role ensures that all designs meet applicable engineering standards, are practical for site implementation, and align with project programmes and system capabilities.
 
Key Accountabilities
• Prepare self-climbing platform designs, calculations, and drawings in accordance with project requirements, company standards, and applicable codes, using AutoCAD and structural analysis using Staad-Pro and Design calculation as per B.S Standard & T. G – 20.
• Ensure all SCP designs meet safety, structural, and operational requirements for site use.
• Develop practical and efficient climbing solutions that are aligned with construction sequences and site constraints.
• Coordinate with Design, Structural Engineering, Factory, and Project/Site teams to ensure design integration and constructability.
• Review project information to identify risks, constraints, and design considerations specific to climbing systems.
• Support the planning and sequencing of climbing operations through design outputs.
• Ensure designs are aligned with manufacturing, assembly, and site installation requirements.
• Identify and escalate technical, safety, or programme risks associated with SCP systems.
• Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of SCP design methods, components, and processes.
• Provide Bill of Quantities of Projects for initial tender packages.
• To coordinate with Business Development personnel in preparatory of plans for scaffolding submission.
 
Authority & Responsibility
• Responsible for the safety, accuracy, and compliance of all self-climbing platform design outputs.
• Accountable for delivering designs in line with project timelines and engineering requirements.
• Required to escalate any risks that may impact safety, structural integrity, or project delivery.
 
General
• Maintain high standards of engineering professionalism, particularly in safety-critical design.
• Ensure confidentiality of all technical and commercial information.
• Work flexibly to support project and business requirements, including peak periods.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably assigned by Management.
