**IMMEDIATE HIRE**
Position Overview
The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for protecting the people, property, and operations of our commercial clients across the Greater Nashville area. Officers represent First Class Security, Inc. on-site every shift and are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, sound judgment, and clear communication at all times.
Shifts vary by assignment and may include days, evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Core Responsibilities
Patrol and Site Security
Conduct scheduled and random patrols of assigned commercial properties on foot and by company vehicle
Monitor all access points, common areas, parking lots, and perimeters for unauthorized activity, hazards, or policy violations
Patrol the client's property.
Check in and out of shifts and complete all patrol checkpoint scans as required
Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and other incidents within the assigned area
Control access to restricted areas and verify credentials in accordance with site-specific post orders
Reporting and Documentation
Log all observations, incidents, and patrol activities during each shift
Complete accurate written incident reports for any event outside normal operations
Communicate with supervisors and dispatch in a timely manner regarding any site conditions that require attention
Maintain a daily activity log that reflects actual observations
Customer Service and Professionalism
Serve as the visible, professional face of First Class Security on every assignment
Interact with tenants, visitors, employees, and the public in a calm, courteous, and helpful manner
De-escalate conflict situations using verbal communication skills rather than physical force whenever possible
Follow all client-specific post orders and company policies without exception
Qualifications
Required
18 years of age or older
Valid Tennessee driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Current Tennessee unarmed security officer registration or eligibility to obtain one prior to first shift
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Reliable transportation to reach assigned post locations
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol on foot for extended periods in varying weather conditions
Preferred
Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field
Experience using digital shift management or reporting platforms
CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
Familiarity with commercial property environments such as retail centers, office buildings, and apartment communities
Physical Requirements
This role involves extended periods of standing, walking, and driving. Officers must be able to patrol on foot across large properties in all weather conditions, climb stairs, and respond quickly to incidents when needed. The ability to remain alert during overnight and low-activity shifts is required.
Work Environment
Officers are assigned to commercial properties throughout the Greater Nashville metropolitan area. Assignments may include retail centers, office parks, apartment communities, construction sites, and other commercial locations. Shift schedules are set based on client contracts and may rotate.
