Security Manager - Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel (Pre-Opening Team)

Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel set to open in Q2 2026 will bring contemporary style and Laotian flair to the heart of the capital, just minutes from Wat Si Saket, Vientiane Night Market, and Chao Anouvong Park. The hotel’s 197 guest rooms and suites will blend modern design with local touches, offering its guests the choice of four dining venues, including an international all-day dining restaurant, a western comfort food concept and bar, and a Southeast Asian fine-dining restaurant. Guests will enjoy Avani Spa with five treatment rooms, an Avani Fit fitness centre and studio, an outdoor swimming pool, and versatile event spaces including a ballroom for up to 320 guests.

As Security Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and hotel assets while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment. You will lead the planning, implementation, and day-to-day management of security operations, working closely with the hotel leadership team to align security practices with brand standards, legal requirements, and operational needs.

As part of the pre-opening team, this role plays a key part in establishing security systems, procedures, and team readiness to support a smooth opening and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies, procedures, and SOPs in line with Minor Hotels standards and local regulations.

• Lead, train, and manage the Security team to ensure effective coverage, performance, and professionalism at all times.

• Oversee daily security operations including access control, patrols, CCTV monitoring, key control, and incident reporting.

• Conduct regular security risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify potential risks and implement preventive measures.

• Manage emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and crisis management.

• Investigate and document security incidents, accidents, and losses, ensuring accurate reporting and timely follow-up actions.

• Liaise with local authorities, emergency services, and relevant stakeholders when required.

• Work closely with Engineering, Housekeeping, Front Office, and Human Resources to ensure a safe working and guest environment.

• Promote a strong culture of safety and security awareness across all departments through training and communication.

• Support pre-opening activities including recruitment, training, system setup, and operational readiness.

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in security or safety management, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment, with supervisory or managerial responsibility.

• Strong knowledge of security operations, emergency response procedures, and fire and life-safety standards.

• Proven leadership skills with experience in team management, training, and performance monitoring.

• Ability to assess risks, handle incidents professionally, and make sound decisions under pressure.

• Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Lao is mandatory.

• Former police or military experience preferred.

• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

• Proactive, well-organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, pre-opening environment.
