Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. 

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:

Escorting contractors as required

Observe contactor tools and vehicles to make sure they are kept safely away from the inmates

Ensuring contractors adhere to the regulations

Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment.

Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors

Complete daily logs and written reports as necessary

Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the property

Job duties primarily take place outdoors 

Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

*MUST* Valid Ontario Security Guard License

*MUST* Valid WSIB approved First Aid and CPR certificate

*MUST* be able to obtain a Reliability (Level I) Security Clearance (requires 5 years of residency in Canada)

*MUST* Comfortable wearing PPE specified by client such as hard hat and safety boots

Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time

Ability to complete frequent patrols

Ability to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions

Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

Rate of Pay: $22.13 per hour

Working Hours: This is a backfill position. Monday to Friday 0730 to 1600hrs

Location: 2000 Beaver Creek Drive, Gravenhurst, Ontario

As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
