Security Guard - Mississauga (Backfill)

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Execute access control policies and procedures

Restrict un-authorized access to secure areas

Assist employees, clients and visitors

Alarm monitoring and response

Conduct site patrolling

Complete daily logs and written reports (shift and incident reports) as necessary

Ensure the Reception Desk is always monitored

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment

Other duties as required by the supervisor or client

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma

*MUST* Ontario Security Guard License

*MUST* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate

Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time

Ability to complete frequent patrols

Building safety and facilities knowledge

Knowledge of escalation policy and procedure

Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset

Excellent customer service and reception skills

Rate of Pay: $20.60 per hour

Working Hours: This is a backfill position. The selected candidate must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, afternoons, overnights, and weekends.
