Security Guard - Milton

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate to provide meaningful employment for veterans and others dedicated to the safety and well-being of Canadians. Spanning across Central and Southwestern Ontario, we deliver customized security solutions that meet the evolving needs of both public and private sector clients. These include uniformed guarding, mobile response and support, by-law enforcement, and identification services. 

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Job Responsibilities: 

Ensure that the truck gate/reception desk is always monitored

Ensure access control is followed, and client property is secured

Escort visitors as required

Monitor CCTV equipment

Respond to alarms and utilize alarm panels

Assist employees, clients, and visitors

Maintain a positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and clients

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment

Must be able to rotate between East and South gates

Complete daily logs and reports as necessary

Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

Working Conditions

Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Flexibility to work scheduled and unscheduled hours as required.

Exposure to varying weather and temperature conditions.

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma

MUST hold a valid Ontario Security Guard License

MUST hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate

MUST have access to personal vehicle, this will be used for patrol duties; mileage will be reimbursed

MUST have full G class license

Knowledge of building safety and facility operations.

Understanding of escalation policies and procedures.

Fluent English written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

Rate of Pay: $20.60 per hour

Working Hours, 0700 - 1900: Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday; Week 2 - Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 

Location: 400 Chisholm Drive, Milton
