Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. 

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Operation of the gate house over a 24 hrs period

Meet vehicles entering the Cadet Training Centre (CTC)

Identify where they intend to travel to

Take vehicle information prior to entering CTC

Check ID/vehicle passes before allowing entrance to the CTC

Contact Ops to verify pers allowed to enter the CTC

Direct pers to the appropriate location, i.e. Ops Reception, HQ, Warehouse, etc.

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

*MUST* Ontario Security Guard License

*MUST* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate

*MUST* be able to obtain Reliability Security Clearance- minimum 5 Years of Residency in Canada

Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time

Ability to complete frequent patrols

Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset

Able to multi-task and work well with little to no supervision

Excellent customer service and reception skills

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

Rate of Pay: $24.82 per hour

Working Hours: Seasonal Position, Starts: Late June Ends: Late August Monday to Sunday; 12 hour shifts

Location: Canadian Forces Base Borden, Blackdown Cadet Camp

As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
