Position Location: Remote, EST
Who are you?
Security-cleared Professional: You are able to obtain and maintain a government issued public trust clearance.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred with 3-6 years of experience.
Experience: Experience analyzing security standards and guidelines. Has experience with threat monitoring and data protection. Has experience handling security events and reporting. Familiar with network protocols, firewalls, disaster recovery and security best practices. Has worked with security tools such as Splunk, Tenable, Cyberark, or similar.
Certifications: Either a Security + CE, CASP, CISSP, GCIA, CISM, CISA or another certification that is the equivalent.
Core Responsibilities:
Provides technical knowledge and analysis of information security standards and guidelines.
Monitors network activity for threats and ensure data is protected from unauthorized users.
Solves complex technical problems and conducts detailed security event analysis.
Provide recommendations and expertise on network vulnerabilities and remediation approaches.
Identify threats and advanced knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, disaster recovery operations and security best practices.
Preferred Experience:
Proficiency in conducting detailed security event analysis using SIEM tools such as Splunk, including creating custom dashboards and alerts for proactive threat detection.
Experience in performing vulnerability assessments and remediation planning using tools like Tenable or similar vulnerability management platforms.
Familiarity with privileged access management (PAM) solutions, such as CyberArk, to secure and monitor privileged accounts.
Advanced knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and their role in identifying and mitigating network threats.
Experience in implementing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including regular testing and updates.
Strong understanding of encryption standards, secure communication protocols, and data protection techniques to safeguard sensitive information.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks, such as NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS, and the ability to align security practices with regulatory requirements.
Experience in analyzing and responding to advanced persistent threats (APTs) and other sophisticated attack vectors.
Strong communication skills to effectively document findings, prepare reports, and present recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of emerging cybersecurity trends, such as Zero Trust Architecture and cloud security best practices, to enhance organizational security posture.
