Sounds great – what’s the role in a nutshell?

The objective of every pilot in the world is to advise the captain, as an expert on the rivers, to support the captain during navigation and maneuvers, this must be done in the safest and most effective way. Navigate and maneuver the boat from one navigation point to another safeguarding the life and safety of all people onboard. Their work is essential to comply with the programmed itineraries. This work is carried out relying on navigation instrument such as GPS, radar, echo sounders, marine projectors, among others. 

Your passion is:

Navigate and maneuver the vessel from one navigation point to another, according to the programmed itinerary, safely and efficiently.

Use navigation instruments in order to guarantee and ensure a trouble-free trip according to the route outlined.

Make notes of all the news that arises, in the daily movements of the auxiliary vessels, arrivals, departures, emergencies, squabbles, visits from authorities, and all the news that the captain indicates in the logbook.

Provide cleaning support in different area of the boat according to the need.  

Keep your work areas, cabin and more in a perfect state of cleanliness. 

Relieve the outgoing maritime pilot. 

Remain on the bridge to be able to navigate or comply with service schedules according to the watch. 

Remain under strict attention during your guard until you are relieved. 

What are we looking for?

Marine Professional or Navy Maritime Pilot.

Knowledge of navigation and river piloting instruments. Knowledge of ISM Code. 

5+years in similar position.  

Good English communication skills.  

Skills in management and compliance with legal and regulatory procedures.
