Seasonal Marine Transport Driver

Support Our Team During the Busiest Season on the Water

River Valley Marine of Rochester is seeking a Seasonal Full-Time Marine Transport Driver to support our team during our busiest time of year — the spring run-up. This role is critical to keeping marine products moving efficiently, safely, and professionally as we prepare customers for the boating season.

If you have experience handling boats, towing large loads, and operating commercial vehicles — and you take pride in doing things the right way — this is a great seasonal opportunity to work in the marine industry.

What to Expect

This position will begin each day at one of our Rochester-area service location. You’ll be responsible for the transportation, staging, and organization of marine products, ensuring boats are delivered safely and on time to a variety of locations.

Deliveries may include:

Customer properties

Public boat launches

Storage facilities

Other River Valley locations

The boats we service, sell, and transport range from 19 feet to 40 feet, requiring confidence, attention to detail, and strong safety awareness.

Duties & Responsibilities

Transport marine products safely and efficiently between locations

Operate company vehicles and equipment, including:

Pickup trucks

Flatbed one-ton trucks

Rollback Truck

Forklift

Front-end loader

Properly secure boats and equipment for transport

Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance

Ensure all bills of lading and required paperwork are completed accurately

Assist lot technicians and detail staff as needed

Maintain a professional and customer-focused presence during loading and unloading

Follow all company policies as well as state and federal transportation regulations

Qualifications

Experience with boat handling

Experience towing bumper pulls, fifth wheels, and gooseneck trailers

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Ability to pass a background check

Active cell phone required for daily communication

Schedule & Seasonal Expectations

Seasonal Full-Time Position

Monday–Friday: 40 hours per week

During peak season, hours may increase up to 50 hours per week, with some evening or Saturday flexibility as needed. 

Typical schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (or as needed)

Hours may increase or decrease based on workload and special events
