The Groundskeeper at Pasado’s Safe Haven works alongside our Facilities team members to provide general lawn, garden, and property maintenance at our farmed animal Sanctuary in Monroe, WA. This position will provide beautification and maintenance of our pastures, trails, gardens, and roads at our Sanctuary property with an emphasis on the safety and comfort of our staff, volunteers, visitors, and animal residents. This seasonal position is anticipated to start in May and end in September.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Mowing and pasture reseeding.
Weed management including removal of noxious weeds.
Collect trash and recycling, bring to the street, and return after pickup.
Manage rodent control stations and notify Facilities Associate when supplies run low.
Brush trimming to keep fence lines and trails clear.
Road maintenance including filling potholes with gravel and spreading de icer, when needed.
Inclement weather management including winter/snow management such as ice melt, snow shoveling, sanding, winterizing, and windstorm clean up.
Pressure washing of Sanctuary structures.
Install and remove sunshades, seasonally.
Maintain parking spot paint lines.
Clean debris from floor drains in barn aisles and dog housing.
Maintain the dog park including weeding, tree trimming, plant care, and Astro turf maintenance.
Spread hog fuel and wood fiber in pastures, dog park, and dog pod yards.
Assist facilities team with install, repair, and maintenance of fence lines.
Spread compost.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum 6 months experience in groundskeeping, yard services, or agriculture.
Minimum 6 months of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
Must have experience working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Must be a self-starter, able to prioritize effectively, and possess strong organizational skills.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Be able to work effectively and compassionately with all personality types.
Must be willing to perform a variety of daily physical tasks in all types of weather and conditions.
Must be able to independently lift and carry 30 pounds.

Schedule is Monday – Thursday
Onsite at our sanctuary in Monroe, WA
Salary Range: $22-34/hr, Starting wage $22.50
