Job Title: Contractor, Part-Time Interviewer

Compensation: $18 to $25 per hour, based on experience
Hours: Up to 5 hours per week, evenings and/or weekends preferred
Location: Remote, as approved

Founded in 2004, Highline is committed to inclusive excellence. In 2013, we launched our second school in Green Valley Ranch. Our students come from fifty countries, speak twenty-six different languages, represent a full range of socio-economic backgrounds, and previous educational experiences. Highline has a commitment to a liberal arts education which includes Art, Music, Spanish and P.E. instruction for our students. We have high expectations for all of our learners, with an understanding that some learners need more or different instruction. We have Performance Group teachers at each grade level which enable us to give smaller group instruction for the core content areas of math and language arts. Additionally, we have a robust intervention program with additional supports available as students show they need them. Position Overview
Highline Academy is seeking a detail-oriented, people-centered contractor to support our hiring process. This role focuses on reviewing applications, conducting initial candidate screens, and ensuring a high quality, equitable, and efficient early-stage hiring experience. The screener serves as the first point of contact for many candidates and plays a key role in identifying strong alignment with Highline Academy’s mission, culture, and role expectations.

Scope of Work
Review resumes and application materials for alignment with role criteria
Conduct structured video screening interviews using provided rubrics
Assess candidate qualifications, experience, and cultural alignment
Document screening notes clearly and consistently in the applicant tracking system
Recommend candidates to move forward based on established criteria
Maintain timely communication with candidates to support a positive experience
Collaborate with hiring managers and talent staff to clarify screening priorities
Uphold equitable and bias aware screening practices
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Clear and professional verbal and written communication
Ability to evaluate information objectively using defined criteria
Comfort conducting short interviews
Reliability and ability to meet timelines
Interest in education or school environments preferred
Prior recruiting, HR, customer service, or education experience is a plus

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing computer based work, including reviewing digital documents and conducting virtual interviews
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and video conferencing technology
Ability to read and interpret information displayed on a computer screen with sustained attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats through phone and virtual platforms
Ability to perform routine workspace adjustments associated with remote office work
