JOIN OUR TEAM:
As a Seafreight Operations Manager at Westwing, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence and cost-efficient ocean freight flows across our international supply chain network. We are looking for a hands-on logistics professional with a strong operational and commercial mindset, who will take ownership of end-to-end seafreight execution and help shape scalable freight processes for our growing global sourcing footprint. This position is unlimited and located in Robakowo.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Own and manage end-to-end seafreight operations from booking to arrival across key sourcing regions, including India and Asia
• Coordinate and manage daily collaboration with shippers, freight forwarders, carriers, shipping lines, and consolidation partners to ensure reliable shipment execution and proactive issue resolution
• Monitor shipment visibility, operational KPIs, and partner performance while driving contract compliance, service quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyse and steer freight costs, including contract rates, spot market opportunities, capacity developments, and freight market trends to support cost-efficient transport decisions
• Improve shipper and logistics partner performance in areas such as booking discipline, cargo readiness, documentation quality, container utilisation, and handover accuracy
• Support the design and optimisation of consolidation hub models to improve scalability, lead times, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Collaborate closely with Planning, Buying, Warehousing, Customs, Procurement, Finance, and external partners to ensure smooth end-to-end supply chain flows
• Support freight tenders, benchmarking exercises, and commercial negotiations through operational insights, freight cost analysis, and market intelligence
• Identify operational and commercial risks early and implement corrective actions to protect product availability and customer satisfaction
• Develop and maintain SOPs, reporting routines, and scalable processes across international freight operations
YOU COME WITH:
• 3+ years of experience in seafreight, ocean freight, freight forwarding, import logistics, carrier management, or international supply chain operations
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
• Solid understanding of ocean freight processes, including bookings, shipping documentation, Incoterms, customs interfaces, container planning, and carrier operations
• Experience managing freight forwarders, carriers, logistics partners, and freight rate structures, including contract and spot market rates
• Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems, transport management tools, or market intelligence platforms is a plus
• Strong affinity for operational data, KPIs, and freight cost analysis, with the ability to translate insights into actions and process improvements
• Hands-on, structured, and proactive working style with strong ownership and follow-through
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced international environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with confidence in challenging external partners on performance and service quality
• Fluency in English, German is a plus
