About the Role:

Suki is creating a new category in the health-tech space: the digital assistant. Our product will be the voice user interface for healthcare. As an SDET 3 specialising in Backend testing, you will design and build scalable automation frameworks for API testing and microservices, ensuring that our backend services are stable and high-performing. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers to implement testing strategies that ensure robustness and reliability of the entire system. You will play a key role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our core platform, while also mentoring junior team members and driving continuous improvements in our testing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for APIs and microservices using RestAssured, Postman, GRPC libraries or similar tools.

• Design and implement specialized tests for machine learning models (ASR & NLP) to ensure their accuracy, performance, and robustness.

• Design and implement integration tests to validate data flow and service interactions within a microservices architecture, including complex interactions over gRPC and WebSocket protocols.

• Perform comprehensive non-functional testing, including performance and load testing, using tools like K6 to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance across backend services, gRPC communication, and WebSockets.

• Mentor junior team members, guiding them in test strategy development and debugging complex issues.

• Collaborate with DevOps and Backend Engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Write detailed test plans and test cases for new backend services, features, and machine learning models.

• Monitor API response times and error rates, using metrics to identify potential areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in backend test automation.

• Expertise in Java, Python, and API testing frameworks like RestAssured.

• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, gRPC, WebSocket, and RESTful APIs.

• Experience with performance testing tools like K6.

• Experience with testing machine learning models (ASR/NLP) for accuracy and performance.

• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment of test suites.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to debug complex backend issues.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Desired Skills (Good to Have):

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) Integration: Proven ability to integrate AI concepts or tools into end-to-end testing workflow execution.

• AI Mentorship: Experience mentoring peers on the usage of AI-driven testing tools or methodologies.

• AI for Efficiency: Demonstrated capability to identify inefficiencies in existing processes that could be effectively solved or improved using AI technologies.

• Test Coverage Leadership: Ability to lead efforts to improve test coverage and ensure tests are kept up-to-date with changes in the backend services and ML models.
