School Wellness Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA
Arizona’s first and only autism-focused charter school is seeking a School Wellness Certified Nursing Assistant to work at our Tucson Campus. Under the supervision and direction of the School Nurse, the School Wellness Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for supporting students with medical needs on the Campus.
Duties:
Administer student medications under the direct training and supervision of the district School Nurse
Support students who are medically fragile in their daily living at school at the Tucson Campus
Support a student 1:1 with medical and physical needs during the school day
Support students’ individualized medical/emergency plans under the direction of the district School Nurse
Track chronic illness documentation and ensure communication to the Registrar, School Nurse, and the classroom teacher
Prioritize and administer basic first aid following the assessment of injured students
Communicate effectively and proactively with students, families, and the district School Nurse
Ability to work as part of a team and handle critical situations safely and effectively
May be used as a backup to cover the front desk
Participate in annual and ongoing staff training
Other duties as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid CNA certification with the Arizona State Board of Nursing
Current CPR certification
Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
Prior school experience is preferred
