Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, detail‑oriented School Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This individual plays a crucial role in supporting our school community by ensuring classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas remain sanitary and orderly. 

Hours: Approximately 4pm to 8pm Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Cleaning & Maintenance

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or scrub floors in classrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.

Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, fixtures, and replenishing supplies.

Wipe down surfaces such as desks, tables, counters, and door handles.

Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

Monitor and restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.

Safety & Facility Care

Ensure all cleaning practices meet health and safety standards.

Report any safety concerns, repairs needed, or hazards promptly.

Secure doors, windows, and facility when required.

Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Additional Duties

Set up or remove furniture for school events or classroom changes as needed.

Assist with seasonal or deep cleaning projects (e.g., carpets, windows).

Perform other cleaning or light maintenance tasks as assigned.

Cross‑Campus Administrative Support

Provide custodial support to any school location as needed.

Travel between locations regularly or on short notice to support sanitation continuity.

Professionalism & Collaboration

Work in partnership with school leadership and the corporate team to ensure custodial operations align with program needs and schedules.

Reflect Beacon Hill Schools’ mission and values in all interactions and decisions.

Qualifications

Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, reaching, etc.).

Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.

Must pass background checks as required by state and school policies.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations regularly.
