Saw Cutter / Concrete Finisher

Firma Concrete is a growing commercial and civil concrete contractor. We are seeking a reliable, skilled Saw Cutter / Concrete Finisher who is comfortable operating cutting equipment and contributing to all aspects of concrete placement and finishing.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for concrete saw cutting, joint layout, coring, and assisting with concrete finishing and general labour activities. The successful candidate must be willing to work hands on with the crew, support pours, and maintain production pace on site.

Key Responsibilities

Perform concrete saw cutting including control joints, expansion joints, trench cuts, slab removal, and coring
• Operate walk behind saws, handheld saws, and core drills safely and efficiently
• Assist with concrete placement including raking, screeding, vibrating, bull floating, edging, and troweling
• Support power trowel finishing operations when required
• Perform general labour duties such as forming support, stripping, cleanup, material handling, and site prep
• Read drawings and understand joint layout requirements
• Understand underground utility markings and follow Ground Disturbance procedures
• Drive truck and trailer to transport equipment and materials to and from site
• Maintain saw blades, equipment, and tools
• Follow company safety policies and client site rules

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years experience in saw cutting and concrete finishing
• Strong understanding of concrete placement and finishing techniques
• Ground Disturbance Level II preferred
• Ability to read drawings and locate underground services
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Ability to confidently drive truck and trailer
• CSTS 2020, WHMIS, and First Aid considered assets
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Able to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical labour for extended periods
