JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports To: ACCP Program Manager
Job Summary: The Case Officer will primarily be responsible for the day to day supervision of offenders assigned to the Alternative Community Corrections Program and the supervision of records and files for offenders assigned to the program. Furthermore, the employee will be responsible for supervising offenders out of a satellite office (Mountain City and/or Erwin) and is responsible for court coverage in that particular county. Case Officer II or III/Satellite Officer is also responsible for the job duties outlined below:
Assists the Program Manager/Operations Manager as a liaison with the Criminal Courts in the First Judicial District.
Assists the Program Manager/Operations Manager in conducting pre-sentence investigations and preparation of the pre-sentence investigations (PSI) and post sentence report (PSR) to be presented to the Judges and District Attorneys and other authorized individuals.
Assists the Program/Operations Manager and Treatment Manager in following both the Written Behavioral Contract and Individual Treatment Plan as it pertains to individual offenders. The behavioral contract will include a detailed list of behavioral restrictions and objectives for the offender while on the ACCP.
Maintains training in Pathway and RNA and performs assessments as required by the Program Manager.
Supervises an assigned caseload of 50 active offenders sentenced to the ACCP. Maintains administrative files for inactive offenders. Coordinates with Program/Operations Manager, and Treatment Manager to provide offenders with appropriate services as needed.
Assists the Program/Operations Manager and Treatment Manager identifying needs the client might have regarding reentry needs reported to the officer.
Assists the Program/Operations Manager and Treatment Manager and Specialist/Resource Officer in developing community service placements which are aligned with the skills and abilities of the offender and are viable placements to serve the community.
Prepares reports and records as assigned by the Program Manager including but not limited to monthly statistical reports, quarterly checks, file checks, exit summaries, violation reports, etc.
Completes reviews and data collection and program evaluations as assigned by the Program Manager.
Participates in staff meetings, conferences and training.
Conducts home, employment and monthly arrest checks on assigned offenders per supervision level.
Submits to periodic and random drug/alcohol screens. Abides by agency rules, regulations, policies, and the Policy and Procedure Manual.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not inclusive. Employee is responsible for other duties as assigned from appropriate management personnel. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
The Case Officer is expected to display and maintain a level of professionalism, ethical behavior and sound judgement in his/her daily interactions with offenders.
Experience and Education: Graduate from an accredited university or college with a B.A., B.S. or equivalent with at least two years experience in human services or the criminal justice system. Extensive experience may be substituted for the required education.
