OverviewWe are seeking a senior SAP Project Manager to lead governance for a high visibility SAP material systems conversion at a precision manufacturing facility in Italy with an associated technical center. This environment supports premium automotive production, requiring extremely high operational discipline and zero tolerance for disruption.

This role is strictly governance-focused. It is not a hands-on SAP configuration role. A global system integrator will perform execution activities. Your responsibility is independent oversight, risk management, and objective reporting to enterprise leadership.

Key Responsibilities• Own overall project governance for SAP material systems conversion• Serve as independent oversight for system integrator delivery• Manage and challenge execution teams when required• Coordinate parallel workstreams between plant operations and technical center• Lead project planning, milestone tracking, and dependency management• Identify and escalate risks with clear, factual recommendations• Maintain transparent, unbiased status reporting• Interface with manufacturing leadership and IT stakeholders• Protect plant operations during cutover and transition periods

Required Qualifications

• Automotive or tier one manufacturing experience• Experience in high criticality production environments• Familiarity with SAP ECC and S4HANA conversion programs• Italy based and able to work on site in Lucerna• 10+ years SAP project management experience in manufacturing environments• Proven legacy ERP to SAP conversion experience• Strong background in materials management and manufacturing processes• Demonstrated experience governing large system integrators• Comfortable pushing back on vendors and senior stakeholders• Excellent executive communication and documentation skills

What This Role Is Not• Not a hands on SAP configuration role• Not a vendor delivery position• Not a junior or coordinator level PM role

Engagement Details• Expected start in Q1 with exact date to be confirmed• Initial 12 month engagement with strong likelihood of extension• Opportunity to expand into additional regional programs based on performance
