SAP Project Controlling - 5 Months Contract

We are seeking an experienced Project Controlling Functional Consultant to join our SAP Finance team for a large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation. The consultant will play a key role in designing, configuring, and deploying Project System and Controlling solutions, ensuring seamless integration across finance and logistics modules.

This is a client-facing role that requires strong functional expertise, proactive stakeholder engagement, and hands-on system configuration capabilities. The consultant will collaborate closely with Finance, Controlling, and cross-functional teams to deliver an optimized project controlling framework aligned with business requirements.

• Lead and support end-to-end implementation of Project Controlling processes in SAP S/4HANA.
• Participate in requirement gathering workshops with Finance and Project Management stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system design documents.
• Configure and customize system settings to support project-based accounting and controlling.

Requirements:
1. SAP S/4HANA Project Implementation

• Lead and support end-to-end implementation of Project Controlling processes in SAP S/4HANA.
• Participate in requirement gathering workshops with Finance and Project Management stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system design documents.
• Configure and customize system settings to support project-based accounting and controlling.

2. Core Functional Areas

SAP CO-PS (Project System)

• WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) creation and configuration.
• Settlement of WBS elements (periodic and full settlement).
• Cross-company code WBS processing.
• Cost planning, budgeting, and availability control.
• Milestone billing configuration and integration with SD.
• Project cost tracking and reporting.

SAP CO-PA (Profitability Analysis)

• Design and configuration of profitability segments.
• Integration of project revenues and cost data into CO-PA.
• Support reporting and margin analysis for project-based business.

SAP CO-PC (Product Cost Controlling)

• Cost collection and cost object controlling.
• Overhead calculation and allocation cycles.
• Settlement processes and variance analysis.

3. Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Ensure integration between CO-PS and other modules including:
• SAP MM (procurement and material postings)
• SAP SD (milestone billing, revenue recognition)
• SAP PP (production-related cost postings)

• Collaborate with FI consultants to ensure alignment with financial accounting requirements.
• Support data migration activities and validation of master and transactional data.

4. Testing & Deployment Support

• Prepare and execute unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Support defect resolution and system stabilization.
• Assist in cutover planning and go-live activities.
• Provide hypercare and post-go-live support.

5. Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary functional contact for Project Controlling topics.
• Conduct regular alignment meetings with client Finance teams.
• Present solution design, process flows, and configuration decisions.
• Provide end-user training and documentation.

Required Qualifications

Primary Skillset

• Strong hands-on experience in:
• SAP CO-PS
• SAP CO-PA
• SAP CO-PC

• Minimum 5+ years of SAP Controlling experience with at least one full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementation.
• Deep understanding of project accounting, cost controlling, and financial integration.

Experience in multinational or cross-company implementations.

Knowledge of revenue recognition and project-based accounting standards.

SAP certification in Controlling or Project Systems is a plus.
