Skills Required:

The Release Manager & Architect, SAP Master Data Management (MDM) is responsible for leading, managing and delivering all assigned project and support activities on behalf of the Application Services (AS) Enterprise Services Team. The Release Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of MDM projects and services for the Client, including application design, development, implementation, testing and support. Additionally, the Release Manager will be responsible for managing relationships across the AS Functional teams, BUIT Partners, IT Infrastructure teams Vendor teams (both onsite and offshore) and GOC affiliates(including Consumer, Pharma, MD&D and Corporate) to ensure that the Application Services organization delivers quality products and services

Detailed JD / Responsibility REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong Project Management skills including:• Ability to lead medium to large projects in SAP MDM and GDS (Global Data Synchronization)
• Practices effective project management including thorough requirements gathering, blueprinting, configuration, testing, training and documentation.
• Defines, designs, develops, and delivers project solutions to specified requirements on schedule and within budget, following the J&J SDLC methodology
• Translates business requirements into system solutions.
• Collaborates with affiliate power users to develop Functional and Technical specifications.
• Responsible to ensure systems design and development by the SME satisfies all the needs of the end-users by developing / reviewing test plans and test scripts.
• Works with other SME’s for SAP ECC, Portals & PI to enable the user functionality required by the business in MDM & GDS.
• Liaises with Technology SME to ensure that new functionality is moved into production without unintended impacts to live business processes.
• Ability to manage delivery of large pool of offshore & onsite resource over 40 resources
• Ability to architect solutions and review designs for effective implementation of MDM applications

• Managing Relationships and Partnerships including:• Serves as the primary IT/Business partner for MDM Team related functions
• Liaises and partners effectively with GS and ITS staff and outside vendors supporting MDM and GDS technical requirements (Basis, security, consultants, service desk, etc.).

• Effective, Compliant Support and Change Management including:• Ensures all AS Projects and Support Services comply with applicable laws, regulations, standards, J&J policies, BUIT policies and procedures including change management, Security and Governance practices.
• Responsible for Enhancements, Upgrades, Bug fixes and Level 3 Functional Support.
• Configures system changes in support of business requirements for all affiliate companies.
• Troubleshoots any functional and technical system problems.

• Solid Problem Solving including:• Gathers data, researches and analyzes specific business problems with end users
• Applies conceptual knowledge of business processes and technologies to solve complex business process and procedural problems.

• Focus on driving Efficiency and Improvements including:• Develops recommendations for work streams to make the MDM team more efficient.
• Performs evaluation study for data complexity – for possibility to perform data consolidation, cleansing, harmonization and Central Data Entry.
• Effectively Influence SAP for including new capabilities in newer versions of MDM software
• Investigates future software releases and opportunities, assessing the impact on affiliate companies. Manages the work of Consultants and other team members

Remarks/ Special Needs:

• Minimum BA/BS degree in IT or related disciplines required.
• A Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT with increasing scope of responsibility is required
• Excellent Experience in Project management is required. PMP Preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing Master Data Management Tools /Processes is required
• A Minimum 5 years’ Experience in SAP R/3 or ECC in Master Data Management Tools / processes is required.
• Experience implementing at least two Master Data implementations projects is required
• Proven ability in project scoping, planning and prioritization skills is required
• Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills is required
• Demonstrated experience with preparing documentation, including functional / technical specifications, User documentation and presentations is required
• Demonstrated experience with requirements gathering: including understanding the complete business process behind requirements is preferred
• Experience in working in highly regulated environment is Required
• Good Knowledge of SAP capabilities around Data & process in SD, MM, FI processes to enable design for custom developments or enhancements is Preferred .
• Good understanding of SAP Netweaver MDM, PI, BW or Portals capabilities is required
• Understanding of SAP integration processes – IDOC, ALE, web services is Required
• Ability to use group facilitation skills to drive the completion of a functional design document is required.
• Ability to identify issues blocking decisions on functional design and apply the appropriate resolution techniques is required.
• Training and experience in good test design; experience writing test cases and reviewing/approving the execution of those test cases is required.
• Experience in reviewing technical designs providing feedback on whether the technical design satisfies functional specifications is required.
• Experience in working across organizations in a Global Environment and influencing others outside chain-of-command is required
• Previous experience in assignments involving at least 3 of the technologies like SAP MDM, Info Steward, MDG, and EP is required.
• Good troubleshooting and decision making skills is required
• Strong project management skills to lead and direct a project team is required
• Experience in Implementing Data Quality , Consolidation , Harmonization and Central data Entry Master data Management Scenarios Required
• Background in Data Architecture and Data Modeling Required
