Job Description

Talent Worx is looking for a knowledgeable SAN Switches Specialist to join our team. The role involves managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Storage Area Network (SAN) switches to ensure optimal performance and availability of storage solutions. As a critical member of the IT infrastructure team, you will work with storage architectures and ensure high availability and resiliency in our data storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configuration and Setup: Configure and set up SAN switches to meet organizational storage requirements.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to SAN switches, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Monitoring: Regularly monitor SAN performance, capacity, and health to preemptively address potential issues.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of SAN configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with storage engineers and system administrators to support data storage needs and integrate SAN with existing systems.
• Upgrades: Plan and implement upgrades to SAN switch firmware and hardware as necessary to keep the infrastructure up-to-date.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience managing SAN switches, with hands-on experience in Cisco MDS or Brocade switch environments.
• Strong understanding of storage protocols (Fibre Channel, iSCSI) and network concepts.
• Experience with SAN management tools and best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues in a SAN environment.
• Certifications in networking or SAN technologies are a plus (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Brocade certifications).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
