Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Sample Preparation Technician to join our team in Johor, Malaysia. AHK Malaysia provides services to the mining, metals, refining and recycling industries in a variety of capacities including auditing, supervision, sampling and analysis of metals and minerals derived from the previously mentioned practices

As a Sample Preparation Technician, you are responsible for supporting the process of reception, moisture determination, sample preparation and sample dispatch. You will carry out analytical methods and standard operating practices under supervision to a high degree of precision and accuracy, ensuring that an effective and high quality analytical service is provided to meet reporting deadlines on the various types of samples/commodities submitted to the laboratory for analytical evaluation.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

Required Knowledge and Work Experience

Essential

Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets (eg. table sorting/conditional formatting/filtering information)

Basic understanding of mathematics (eg. percentages/ratios)

Excellent in written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills 

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy and precision.

Ability to drive (clean driving licence).

Ensure data collated are correct and reliable, constantly update and reconcile them with other concerned parties. 

Ability to meet deadlines.

Prepared to work in different locations. 

Be prepared to undertake other duties, of appropriate nature, assigned by work colleagues.

Proactive approach to fulfilling tasks and responsibilities.

Required Work Experience

Operational experience within the surveying and inspection industry is preferred.

Diploma or Degree in a related scientific field or equivalent practical experience.

Minimum of 0-3 years of relevant work experience in coordination, surveying, or inspection roles.

Able to understand basic mathematics and Excel/Google sheet functions

Required Languages

Fluent in English and Malay (Both written and spoken for business communication)

Working Pattern: 

Day Shift or Night Shift - Overtime paid. Including weekends.
