We are looking for a Sample & Laboratory Support Technician to join our Laboratory Support team in York. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate receipt, processing, tracking, and shipment of samples within a GLP/GCP-regulated laboratory environment.
The position also provides operational laboratory support, including reagent preparation, consumable management, and equipment coordination. It offers a great opportunity for someone interested in developing experience across laboratory operations, compliance, and support systems within the pharmaceutical research industry.
Responsibilities
• Receive, reconcile, process, store, and ship laboratory samples in line with regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate sample tracking and documentation within laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS)
• Coordinate and communicate with clients and courier services regarding sample shipments
• Prepare reagents and solutions required for laboratory work
• Support stock management of consumables, analytical standards, and control matrices
• Assist with stock takes, inventory monitoring, and expiry tracking
• Support laboratory organisation and operational efficiency
• Assist with preventative maintenance documentation and equipment coordination
• Support environmental monitoring systems and storage unit management
• Ensure all activities follow company SOPs and regulatory standards (GLP/GCP)
• Maintain accurate documentation and support audit readiness
• Provide general laboratory support across operational activities as required
Requirements:
• Secondary school education required; A-levels in a relevant scientific subject preferred
• No prior laboratory experience required, though experience in a laboratory or regulated environment is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to follow procedures and regulatory requirements accurately
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently when required
• Willingness to learn and develop within laboratory operations
• Eligible to work in the UK
