Sales Team Leader
Location: NJ / NY
Reports to: Territory Manager
Department: Sales
Mission
Support the Territory Manager in supervising routes and the sales team, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring the achievement of sales, service, and profitability objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead, train, and evaluate the sales team in execution, merchandising, commercialization standards, and policy compliance.
Plan and communicate sales strategies, objectives, and deadlines through individual and team meetings.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including brand performance, coverage, distribution, and route compliance.
Ensure adherence to route schedules, customer visits, and planned service levels.
Provide route support when necessary, including managing returns, product rotation, pricing, and inventory control.
Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly business plans to drive growth.
Manage strategic relationships and conduct business reviews with key customers to ensure satisfaction and superior service.
Analyze data using company tools to identify business opportunities and support the management of outstanding accounts.
Supervise Sales Representatives, Sales Rep–Merchandisers, and DPVs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of data analysis and sales metrics; intermediate proficiency in Excel.
Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to deliver business presentations.
Experience supervising staff and managing diverse teams, with a focus on motivation and goal achievement.
Proven ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Social Sciences, Finance, or a related field from an accredited university.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and customer management; prior experience in a consumer packaged goods (CPG) organization is preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position may require lifting and carrying objects, standing or sitting for extended periods, kneeling, and frequent walking and physical movement, with or without reasonable accommodation.
