The Role
We’re looking for a Sales & Services Manager to support meetings and group travel from initial planning through on-site execution — ensuring seamless experiences for event owners, attendees and community partners.
This position works closely with event planners throughout the services process, overseeing service delivery and coordinating local and regional partnerships that strengthen Lane County’s position as a premier meetings and travel destination.
In addition to event services, this role supports travel trade and media initiatives that help position Lane County with tour operators, travel partners and media to grow both group and independent travel.

What to Expect
You’ll join a team that values collaboration, innovation and service. This full-time, exempt role is based in our downtown Eugene office, with hybrid flexibility available after your first few months.
Your work will span planner communication, partner coordination and event execution, both behind the scenes and on-site. You’ll lead the services process from kickoff through in-market support, keeping deliverables clear, timelines on track and partners aligned.
You will also contribute to travel trade and media efforts by assisting with familiarization tours, preparing partners and tracking activity that supports group and independent travel growth.
In addition, you will manage your accounts with autonomy, backed by a collaborative team.
Occasional evening and weekend work, as well as travel, are part of the rhythm of this role. As is the reward of seeing your work come to life in successful events and travel experiences.
Starting pay: $55,000 per year (full-time, exempt)

Position Title: Sales & Services Manager
Purpose of Position:
This position works closely with the event planner through the services process, ensuring seamless experiences for event owners, attendees and community partners. The manager oversees service delivery and coordinates local and regional partnerships to strengthen Lane County’s position as a premier meetings and travel destination. In addition, the role supports travel trade and media initiatives that help position Lane County with tour operators, travel partners and media to grow group and independent travel.
Responsibilities*:
Services & Event Support (40%)
Develop and maintain an Events Services Playbook that identifies core services offered, in collaboration with Sports, Community Engagement and Marketing teams.
Lead the services process from event kickoff meeting through in-market execution.
Serve on Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) for selected events.
Develop and manage event itineraries and the attendee passport program (with support from Coordinator and Marketing).
Coordinate in-market tabling for events and ensure staff/volunteer coverage.
Sales & Event Development (20%)
Manage the transition details from initial sales contact (Sales Manager) into full account management.
Assist with prospecting potential planners and events.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local partners and venue managers.
Support proactive sales strategies that generate new opportunities for conventions and meetings.
Support planning and hosting of familiarization (FAM) tours & site visits.
Travel Trade & Media Support (20%)
Participate as appropriate (including travel) in domestic trade and international sales/marketing/media efforts led by Travel Oregon, Oregon Tour & Travel Alliance and regional partners.
Coordinate travel trade and media familiarization (FAM) tours and site visits in collaboration (with Marketing) and destination partners.
Assist with itinerary, package and product development for travel trade and group marketing efforts.
Support partner readiness for packaged travel by helping identify tourism products and experiences suitable for group and FIT travel.
Track travel trade activity and assist with basic reporting on group and FIT leads and referrals.
Project & Event Management (10%)
Lead programing for the Group Business Marketing Meeting and other groups and projects.
Manage event, event timelines, partner communications and follow-up reporting.
Ensure that services and deliverables are developed and completed on time and meet client expectations and organizational goals.
Team & Administrative Support (10%)
Maintain accurate CRM records, reports and documentation.
Support the Conventions Team with special projects and industry initiatives.
Attend staff meetings, trade shows and industry events as assigned.
Other Duties as Assigned

Position Requirements:
3+ years of experience in sales, event management or services, preferably within meetings, tourism, hospitality, sports or related industry.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects, committees and/or client accounts.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
Familiarity with CRM systems (Simpleview preferred) and Microsoft Office 365.
Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays for visitor center shifts and events as needed.
Available for occasional domestic and international travel.
Valid Oregon driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to drive a company van.
Able to set up and take down information table with brochures and other materials including tables, tents, etc.
Able to staff information table for up to 8 hours, both indoors and outdoors.
Able to load and deliver cases of visitor guides (up to 35 lbs.) to local businesses using the company van.
Compensation/Hours:
Full-time, exempt position based in our downtown Eugene office with occasional shifts in the visitor center. This position is eligible to work a hybrid in-office/remote schedule after 3 months.
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
