Job Description

We are seeking a driven and commercially savvy Sales Manager – Resources to lead business development and client growth across the resources sector from our Byron Bay office. This role is suited to a high-performing sales leader with strong industry networks, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to win and grow accounts in complex business-to-business environments.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue, developing key client relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and leading sales activity across a portfolio of products or services aligned to the resources industry. Working closely with leadership and operational teams, the role will play a key part in expanding market presence and delivering long-term commercial value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sales and business development activity across the resources sector, with a focus on revenue growth and client acquisition
• Develop and execute sales strategies aligned to market opportunities, business objectives, and regional growth priorities
• Build, manage, and expand relationships with key clients across mining, energy, industrial, and related resources markets
• Identify and convert new business opportunities through market mapping, prospecting, tender activity, and strategic engagement
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to proposal development, negotiation, and contract close
• Work closely with operational, technical, and leadership teams to ensure client needs are understood and solutions are commercially viable
• Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and deliver accurate sales forecasting, reporting, and performance insights
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform strategy and strengthen market positioning
• Represent the business at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings
• Contribute to pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and broader commercial planning
• Support account management and retention initiatives to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships


Requirements:
You are a commercially focused sales leader with experience working in or servicing the resources sector, and you bring a track record of building strong client relationships and delivering revenue growth. You are confident engaging with senior stakeholders, identifying opportunities in competitive markets, and translating technical or operational capability into compelling client solutions.

You are proactive, credible, and results-oriented, with the ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a relationship-driven environment.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Significant experience in a sales, business development, or commercial leadership role within the resources, mining, energy, industrial, or related sectors
• Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, growing accounts, and winning new business in B2B environments
• Strong understanding of the resources sector and its commercial drivers, procurement processes, and client decision-making structures
• Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles, proposals, negotiations, and contract discussions
• Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Commercial acumen, including pricing, margin awareness, and pipeline management
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated approach with strong organisational and reporting capability
• Relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, marketing, engineering, or a related field

Preferred Experience

• Existing networks across mining, energy, engineering, industrial services, or related resources markets
• Experience selling technical, operational, professional, or project-based services into the resources sector
• Familiarity with tender processes, key account planning, and long-term contract management
• Experience working with regional and national clients across Australia
• CRM proficiency and data-driven sales management capability
