JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Business Development Manager to drive the
company’s revenue growth, market expansion, and overall business performance. This leadership
role is responsible for identifying high-value business opportunities, developing market
penetration strategies, strengthening client relationships, and positioning the company
competitively within the financial sector.
The ideal candidate is proactive, target-driven, and possesses strong marketing, analytical, and
leadership capabilities with solid experience in microfinance banking.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and execute comprehensive business development, sales, and market expansion
strategies in line with the company’s vision and growth targets.
• Conduct in-depth market research to analyze industry trends, customer behavior, competitive
positioning, and emerging opportunities.
• Use data-driven insights to design and refine sales strategies, optimize team performance, and
drive revenue growth.
• Oversee and manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation and qualification to closing
deals and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Identify, build, and maintain strategic partnerships, alliances, and high-value business
relationships to support long-term growth.
• Provide periodic reports on sales activities, pipeline performance, KPIs, and market insights to
senior management.
• Lead and support the management of leads, ensuring effective conversion and team
accountability throughout the sales funnel.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of the sales team, ensuring that targets are
met or exceeded.
• Conduct strategic and feasibility research as directed by senior management to support
innovation, product development, and new business lines.
• Coordinate field marketing activities and represent the organization at business meetings,
exhibitions, and industry events.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance oversight to the business development and sales
teams.
Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
• B.Sc. in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s
degree is an added advantage).
• A minimum of 5–7 years’ progressive experience in business development or sales within the
microfinance banking or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of financial products, credit operations, and market dynamics.
• Proven track record of leading teams, driving revenue growth, and achieving/exceeding sales
targets.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to conduct and supervise field marketing activities.
• Highly goal-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as a team
leader.
• Familiarity with market research, competitive analysis, and industry trends.

• Salary: ₦350,000 – ₦450,000 (Based on level of experience)
