Sales and Marketing Lead - 1-year Fixed Term

 This role sits in the Council’s Community Group, which comprises of community focused services such as Hamilton Pool, Parks and Recreation, Hamilton City Libraries and the city’s three main visitor attractions.

We’re looking for a dynamic Sales & Marketing Lead to drive revenue, boost community engagement, and champion customer-focused growth across Hamilton Pools. This role is front-facing, people-centred, and perfect for someone who brings energy, creativity, and FUN to every interaction. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, love talking to customers, and enjoy rolling up your sleeves in a hands-on mix of sales, marketing, and admin. We will need you to be able to start on 4 May 2026.

You’ll bring strong strategic marketing capability, proven sales experience, and the agility to adapt quickly based on data and results. You’re a confident communicator, an engaging storyteller, and someone who builds genuine connections with both the team and our community.

What you’ll do

• Deliver marketing and sales strategies to meet revenue and engagement targets
• Lead, coach, and motivate staff in selling Learn to Swim programmes and fitness memberships
• Drive customer-facing initiatives that create welcoming, fun, and memorable experiences
• Implement retention strategies to reduce cancellations and improve member lifetime value
• Create engaging social media content and manage digital applications for Aquatics
• Track, analyse, and report on leads, sales, retention, and cancellations — pivoting direction where needed
• Provide exceptional frontline customer service and support customer enquiries
• Work closely with internal teams and external partners to grow connection, visibility, and lead generation
• Bring positive energy, creativity, and a hands-on approach to daily operations and admin tasks

• 2 - 5 years’ experience within a similar Marketing and Sales role, managing web and social media applications, including content development.
• Tertiary qualification in a related sales, marketing, communications and/or business management.
• Proven experience in strategic marketing and direct sales
• Strong communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills
• Confidence working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
• Ability to build relationships and work across varied teams

The salary is $83,665 per annum.
