This position is to work in an on-site format in Antofagasta, Chile.

How will you make a difference?  
The professional will be responsible for supporting the continuous improvement of the EHS culture, providing operational support to internal teams, monitoring critical activities, conducting risk assessments, and participating in corporate programs and campaigns. This role will also serve as a reference for the operational team regarding the use of corporate tools and the application of EHS leadership practices, as well as managing routines, controls, and safety requirements applicable to Wabtec operations in Chile.
What do we want to know about you?
• Technical Degree in Occupational Safety (valid/recognized in Chile or equivalent local certification).
• Control of employee medical exams and occupational health policies in Chile.
• Required certifications and authorization to work in mining environments (SERNAGEOMIN).
• Experience in Occupational Safety.
• Intermediate or advanced English proficiency.
• Strong and advanced knowledge of safety, health, and environmental legislation and standards, especially Law 16.744, D.S. 594, D.S. 44, D.S. 57, Environmental Law 19.300/97, D.S. 148, and D.S. 67.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Availability for travel (estimated ~30%).
• 100% on-site position.
• Proactivity, organization, clear communication, and attention to detail.
Candidates with authorization to work in mining environments, availability for travel, and experience in factory and warehouse operations will be considered a strong advantage.
Desired Qualifications
• Previous experience in manufacturing plants and warehouse operations.
• Knowledge of legal requirement management software.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Familiarity with platforms such as GENSUITE.
 
What will your typical day look like?
EHS Activities
• Conduct Safety Talks (DDS) and prepare or review Job Hazard Analyses.
• Support EHS programs, safe behavior initiatives, and safety campaigns.
• Deliver EHS training according to internal needs and training plans.
• Perform field inspections, audits, and document reviews (Wabtec and contractors).
• Monitor critical activities, ensure legal and procedural compliance (including mining regulations), and oversee work permits at customer sites.
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action follow-up.
• Compile EHS data and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Assess environmental exposures and provide guidance on PPE and risk controls.
Administrative & Coordination Activities
• Audit contractor documentation and support third-party compliance.
• Coordinate the Emergency Response Brigade and emergency preparedness activities.
• Support the development, review, and implementation of EHS procedures.
• Assist with EHS administrative routines, training coordination, and internal controls.
This role supports the full EHS lifecycle, working closely with manufacturing, administrative teams, and cross‑functional groups such as One Wabtec, contributing directly to a strong safety culture and effective execution of corporate EHS practices.
