Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join our Amandelbult Complex as a Safety Officer as a legal appointment in terms of Schedule 4 of the MHSA regulation 2/17.1, you will be responsible for the management of the Safety and Risk Assurance Functions and the optimization of the safety and risk control through design, implementation, evaluation, coordination and management of the safety and risk control systems, as well as for ensuring legal compliance at the Unit.  
Safety
• Create a safety culture through productive and authorized operational systems/processes that allow all employees (including contracting partners) to provide their outputs in a risk-controlled environment.
Performance and Delivery
• Ensure implementation of the AAP ORMP.
• Coordinate the External SHE System Certification Audit.
• Plan and ensure the implementation of operational SHE Legal Compliance Assessments.
• Facilitate the implementation of an operational audit schedule on critical area to ensure the elimination of Fatal Incidents.
• Implement the required SHE Risk & Assurance system procedures, systems, and standards.
People & Teams
• Create a purpose-led, high performing culture within the discipline that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity on Act as a role model and actively engage as a team member in all team Processes.
Compliance
• Endure discipline with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements, Anglo American standards, and CA &SI governance.
Qualifications Section
• Grade 12
• Tertiary degree or diploma in Technical, Safety, Health, Environment or Risk.
• COMSOC I &11 or SANTRAC
• Blasting certificate or Trade certificate
• Courses in Safety management systems ISO 45001:2018 and 4500:2018 and ISO 14001: 2015 would be advantageous.
Experience
• 5 Years relevant Mining/Process/Engineering/ experience which should include developing, implementing, managing, and auditing of safety risk control initiative and programmes.
Technical Knowledge
• SHE Incident investigation (Loss Causation/ICAM/RCAT/ SCAT/ AICAT) experience
• Safety, Occupational Health & Hygiene, Environmental Management experience
• Presentation/ Facilitation/ Training
Technical Skills
• Key value drivers across site value chain and interdependence of key levers.
• New technologies and their impact on operational activities within scope of role.
• Business improvement tools and techniques.
• Computer literate (MS Power point, Word, Excel, Access and Projects).
• AFRAD (Accredited Facilitators Risk Assessment Diploma).
• Train the Trainer.
• Auditors courses for Safety and Risk Control management.
• Risk Assessment Techniques experience: (BOW-TIE, WRAC / SWIFT, HAZOP, FMECA, AFRAD).
• Knowledge and experience in incident investigation.
• Basic Firefighting & First Aid.
