Anglo American Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.
We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer - Document Control to support the management of documentation within the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS). This role ensures all safety documentation is accurate, compliant, and effectively controlled.
Ideally you will possess significant professional experience in Document Control, particularly working within a project and Operator environment. You will have demonstrable experience in establishing and maintaining document control processes, managing internal and external communications as well as track and close out document flow involving submission, issuance, transmission, receipt and prepare and report on status. ProjectWise experience will be advantageous.
Key responsibilities, but not limited too;
• Maintain the master document register and document control system
• Ensure documents are version controlled, approved, and current
• Administer SHMS documentation, including procedures, SOPs, PHMPs, and risk assessments
• Coordinate document reviews and approval workflows with stakeholders
• Support audit and compliance requirements, maintaining document traceability
• Manage contractor-related safety documentation
• Maintain accurate records in line with retention requirements
• Administer document systems (e.g. SharePoint/DMS) and user access
• Ensure timely distribution and access to current documentation
To be successful in the role you will have to have the following:
• Professional experience in Document Control
• Experience working in a project and operator environment
• Strong business acumen with in-depth knowledge of document control and project management principles
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve buy-in from key stakeholders.
• Experience in establishing and maintaining document control processes
• Competency in the use of Microsoft office programs, ideally SharePoint based Safety and Health Management System and Microsoft 365
• Monday to Friday roster – Anglo American supports flexible ways of work including work from arrangements
