Our team is made of great professionals. Great and passionate people who collaborate, support and complement each other's skills.
We are one of Europe's leading low-cost airlines, with special relevance in the Spanish domestic market, as well as in France and Italy.
Job Purpose
Collect, structure, integrate and analyse data from all areas of the Safety Management System (SMS) and other operational departments within the airline, in alignment with internal stakeholders’ information needs, safety regulations and corporate data governance standards, to generate reliable, insightful and predictive outputs that support cross-functional collaboration, improve decision-making and enhance flight safety and operational effectiveness.
Main Accountabilities
Consolidate dispersed datasets into a centralised, structured and interpretable data environment, enabling cross-area synergies, integrated analyses and a shared understanding of safety-critical information.
Create dynamic and reliable visualisations (including SPI dashboards) that become the single trusted source for safety performance monitoring and reporting, progressively replacing legacy systems like Excel.
Extract meaningful insights that support proactive safety management, early identification of operational deviations, and formulation of improvement actions across departments.
Enhance foresight into safety risks and behavioural patterns by anticipating deviations in pilot performance, aircraft systems or operational conditions, thereby enabling timely preventive measures.
Ensure dashboards and analyses are tailored, relevant and accepted by each function, increasing the practical value of data products and fostering trust in data-driven decision-making.
Establish well-governed and sustainable data infrastructures that ensure traceability, version control, accessibility and compliance with IT/Data validation protocols.
Improve the quality, impact and credibility of safety and performance communications at management level by enabling evidence-based discussions with real-time visual support.
Obtain technical approval of dashboards and other outputs, ensuring their seamless integration into Vueling’s broader data ecosystem and avoiding duplication or non-compliance.
Uncover new insights and generate recommendations that enhance cross-departmental understanding, training effectiveness, and ultimately safety outcomes
Enable earlier detection of risks and shift the SMS culture towards prediction and prevention, aligning with regulatory trends and future obligations.
Support compliance by ensuring clarity, reliability and transparency in the way safety data is presented to external authorities.
Help build a culture of trust and confidence in data, reducing reliance on outdated tools, improving decision-making, and aligning Vueling with industry-wide trends in aviation safety and data science.

Implement and apply Machine Learning models to historical and real-time data streams, aiming for predictive analytics in safety and performance contexts.
Collaborate closely with responsible persons from each SMS area (Human Factors, Safety, Compliance, Management of Change) and from related operational units (Engineering, Training, Maintenance, Scheduling) to understand their information needs and co-design data solutions.
Contribute to the design, maintenance and documentation of data pipelines and databases within the SMS ecosystem.
Support internal reporting and communication through the preparation of dashboards and data outputs for use in presentations to executive stakeholders, including Production Directors and other leadership figures.
Coordinate with internal IT and Data teams to ensure all data solutions comply with corporate technical, design and security standards, including Tableau dashboard validation.
Develop joint analyses between historically disconnected data domains, such as Human Factors and FDM, or Training results and operational performance.
Support the transition from reactive to proactive safety management through improved data exploitation.
Act as a data interlocutor in regulatory inspections or audits (e.g. with AESA) where complex datasets must be interpreted and explained.
