Job Description
The Safety Co-Op is to assist with the overall management of safety and health for numerous jobsites. This opportunity is available for the Fall 2026 semester.
Specific Tasks / Core Competencies
Assist with reading and tagging Observations and Near Misses (weekly)
Submit trainings and other documentation on Compliance Websites (as needed)
Pull Focus 4 trends off HCSS Safety (weekly)
Update Safety Team Page with safety related stats/information (monthly)
Assist with Safety Talk ideas and editing them (weekly)
Put together SDS binders (as needed)
Print and laminate training cards (as needed)
Pull expiring and expired training reports (monthly)
Maintain (sort and file) job site safety paperwork (hot work permits, excavation inspections, crane inspections, etc.) [weekly]
Inspect and sign all fire extinguishers located in main building (monthly)
Assist in calibrating air monitors (as needed)
Attend safety meetings (weekly)
Stock and organize all safety equipment orders (weekly)
Assist on any miscellaneous safety/office administration tasks (weekly)
Shadow Safety Supervisors when visiting job sites (weekly)
Additional tasks as assigned
Skills & Requirements
Exceptional communication and organizational skills, ability to speak in group setting
Familiar with applicable health and safety requirements of all governing legislation
Demonstrates initiative and professionalism
Ability to travel with overnight stays
Familiar with Word and Excel
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
