The Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects of management including, but not limited to, staffing, supervision, scheduling, evaluating, test marketing, and planning within the respective department
SAF Engineering Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Staff and supervise department personnel.
• Interface with customers, and other Department Managers.
• Schedule jobs, resolve scheduling discrepancies.
• Technical Advisor
• Oversee forecasting and billing.
• Evaluate standard's, test procedures, and test equipment.
• Review and evaluate quotes.
• Marketing and sales analysis, planning and execution support.
• Strategic planning at Department level.
• Coordinates and direct Quality Functions within the department
• Responsible for day-to-day supervision and problem resolution within the department.  Responsible for conducting employee performance reviews, recommend raises, recommend promotions.
• Participate in the administration of annual budget, reviews and department expenditures.
Additional Duties:
For those managers who are indicated as a reviewer in any certification program:
• Certification Activities: Is a reviewer of product testing packages for the certification activities as indicated in other documents and provides documented reviews to the Certification Committee of reviewed testing packages and applications for compliance with the appropriate standards and appropriate regulatory requirements.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
• Four-year college degree/or a minimum of ten years of field or lab testing experience and similar management experience.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience at a Project Engineer level. • Course work, seminars and ongoing evidence of professional development.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
The ideal candidate would possess:
Working knowledge of all procedures, regulations, and equipment, able to see the big picture, able to integrate and manage staffing, planning, operations, and budgeting.  Superior interpersonal and communicative skills.
Position is full-time role working Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm, with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Baltimore, MD are encouraged to apply.
