What You’ll Do:

Repair or replace roofing systems

Detect leaks

Clean and maintain equipment

Repair, replace or install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions

Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level

Install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel

Pour hot asphalt and tar

Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools

Set-up scaffolding

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Hand-eye co-ordination, physically demanding; Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads; Large workload, Repetitive tasks, overtime required, work under pressure, fast-paced environment.

Area of specialization:
Conventional and inverted built-up system, modified roofing system, rigid pre-formed roofing system, single ply sheet membrane roofing system

Work Site Environment: At heights, Noisy, Dusty, Dangerous, Outdoors

Work Setting: Commercial, industrial

Job Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial flat roofing
