REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 5 to 7+ years of software development experience; preferably using Java, JavaScript and Oracle PL/SQL

• BS in Computer Science required or equivalent experience

• Demonstrated systems design experience specifically in complex integrations and workflows

• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and to ensure that overall priorities are being met

• Strong presentation and communication skills; ability to interface with other groups within the GT&O organization

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate issues and solutions

Backend Technology and Skills Requirements:

• Java

• Object Relational Mapping using iBatis/MyBatis or Hibernate

• Spring MVC

• Rest APIs

• Spring Bean Framework (AOP a plus)

• SQL, PL/SQL, or Transact SQL

Frontend Technology and Skills Requirements:

• JavaScript: Understanding of how closures, anonymous functions and promises behave

• Dojo toolkit (Other Frameworks such as JQuery are good substitutes)

• One Page type application experience a plus (application has multiple pages, but browser only renders initial, additional pages are rendered via Ajax/DOM manipulation)

• HTML and CSS

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

• Node.JS, Req.JS, Angular, D3.JS, Kendo, Knockout, Hibernate, Struts, JQuery

• Experience working with/on Amazon AWS Cloud (VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)

• Spring Boot, Docker

• Microservice development

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a great opportunity for a senior level developer to come in and function as the lead technical point of contact between our Linear Ad Sales Systems and Cloud Playout system in both the United States and United Kingdom. Client is the first Cable or Broadcast company in the world to run linear TV from the Cloud. This area will continue to be a focal point in global technology strategy and should provide plenty of opportunity for challenging the limits of how TV has traditionally been broadcast. The environment is fast paced and the ability to iterate, collaborate and problem solve on the fly are key strengths that the candidate should possess. This position is responsible for designing and implementing software solutions while in conjunction working with the QA team and end users to ensure the stability and performance of the software.
