Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a haul driver, you will operate a heavy diesel truck hauling rock, sand, and gravel for large jobs. Due to the weight of the load and size of the truck, the driver must possess a CDL and have safe driving knowledge and good driving skills. This position is Non-Exempt.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Perform pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections.

Walk around the area before taking the load on the road.

Monitor truck and company equipment to ensure proper operation and professional appearance.

Maneuver truck into loading position for unloading positions at the delivery locations.

Clean truck after each delivery to keep the truck in good, clean condition.

Complete delivery paperwork and keep records of daily activities.

Operate equipment, such as haul truck controls, CB radios, GPS equipment to exchange necessary information with dispatch, supervisors, or other drivers.

Report any issues with truck and keep maintenance up to date.

Haul drivers must get the load weighed after loader loads truck to get a gross weight. Haul truck cannot exceed 80,000 pounds.

Follow all applicable state and federal regulations.

Must be willing to cross train in a mixer truck.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a Class A CDL.

Must have updated medical card.

Must be able to follow directions on the tickets.

Responsible for checking your truck for safety issues, turning, moving forward, stopping and backing up.

Must have good communication skills, active listening, good judgement, and decision making.

Must have navigation and organizational skills.

Self-motivated, self-starter.

Reliability, dependability, honesty, and integrity is a must.
