Role Overview
The Autonomous Mowing Specialist is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of autonomous mowing systems, including equipment utilizing Automower Solar Chargers. This role is hands-on and technology-driven, requiring strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with advanced robotic systems. Success in this position depends on discipline, efficiency, and excellent time-management skills to ensure reliable performance across both commercial and residential properties.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and calibrate autonomous mowing systems and Automower Solar Chargers
Monitor daily mower operations to ensure consistent, optimal performance
Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, testing, and timely repairs
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field efficiently
Collaborate with team members to optimize routes, uptime, and operational performance
Educate clients and internal staff on proper equipment use, safety protocols, and best practices
Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance logs, testing data, and performance reports
Manage inventory of frequently used parts and proactively order replacements to minimize downtime
Coordinate with manufacturers to submit warranty claims for parts and labor
Serve as the primary liaison with manufacturers, providing field feedback and improvement recommendations
Stay current on emerging technologies and trends in autonomous mowing systems
Qualifications
Hands-on experience in landscaping, turf management, or a related technical field
Familiarity with robotic systems, GPS technology, solar charging systems, and software interfaces
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Experience
Experience with platforms such as Husqvarna, Kress, Segway, Yarbo, Greenzie, Exmark, or similar systems
Background in low-voltage wiring, networking, or telemetry systems
Previous experience supporting autonomous or “smart” equipment in the field
