What you will do

As our Roblox Platform Developer Intern, you'll be at the forefront of creating engaging experiences within the Roblox ecosystem. You'll drive the development of games and content while staying ahead of platform trends and emerging formats. Working closely with our design and content teams, you'll be responsible for bringing creative visions to life through code and technical implementation. On a typical day, your tasks may include:

• Developing and maintaining Roblox games using Lua scripting and Roblox Studio

• Implementing new gameplay mechanics, features, and content updates based on trending formats

• Collaborating with designers and artists to optimize user experience and performance

• Using Roblox analytics and internal tools to track game performance and player engagement

• Researching and experimenting with new Roblox features, APIs, and development tools

• Monitoring the Roblox platform for emerging trends, successful game formats, and community preferences

• Building and maintaining game economies, monetization systems, and user progression mechanics

• Troubleshooting technical issues and implementing performance optimizations across multiple experiences

Who you are

You're a passionate developer with deep knowledge of the Roblox platform and its evolving landscape. Your strength lies in translating creative concepts into engaging gameplay while staying current with what's popular in the Roblox community. You love experimenting with new features, have an intuitive understanding of what makes games fun, and aren't afraid to iterate quickly based on player feedback. Typically, your profile will look like this:

• Strong proficiency in Lua programming and extensive experience with Roblox Studio

• Deep understanding of Roblox platform trends, popular game genres, and emerging content formats

• Excellent problem-solving skills and genuine passion for game development and player experience

• Experience with Roblox's monetization systems, DataStore services, and remote events/functions

• Ability to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and other developers in cross-functional teams

• Strong analytical mindset with experience using Roblox analytics and performance optimization techniques

• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can quickly adapt to new platform updates and community trends

• Colleagues would describe you as hard-working, ambitious and persistent

What the process will look like

We hire on a rolling basis. Earliest starting date is always ASAP.

Once you begin our process, you can progress from start to offer within a week, depending on how quickly you can move through each stage:

• Online assessment: Motivational questionnaire and aptitude test - are you made for the job?

• Initial interview: 30-minute introductory call - getting to know you

• Take-home case study: Real-world project - showcase your skills and working style

• Case interview: 90-minute case discussion - present and debate your results with a team member

• Founder interview: 90-minute interview with our CEO - going deep on all topics

• Team interview: Individual or group interview with other team members - depending on position

• Offer, Contract signing and Onboarding

Note: As we are still in stealth, you will learn more about Melotech as you progress through the stages. By the end of the Founder interview, you will have a full grasp of our business and the details of your role.
