Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Clinical Decision Unit for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.
This 20-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU), part of the Cardiovascular Institute, provides specialized care to both short-stay observation and inpatient cardiology patients. The team manages complex cardiac cases including acute myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, and post-procedural care for pacemakers, cardiac catheterizations, and more. The unit emphasizes teamwork, respect, and professional growth while delivering exceptional cardiac care.
Job Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to achieve optimal outcomes for cardiac and medical-cardiology patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families to create and revise individualized care plans.
• Administer treatments and medications accurately, documenting in EPIC EMR.
• Monitor patients post-procedure (e.g., pacemaker, cardiac catheterization, left atrial appendage) and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and patient-centered communication.
• Support a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous clinical excellence.
Requirements:
Education
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent program eligible for Virginia licensure.
Experience
• Prior cardiac or progressive care experience preferred.
Certifications/Licenses
• Virginia RN license (or eligibility).
• CPR certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP as applicable within one year of hire.
Skills or Competencies
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
