Program Overview:

• This program is designed to provide broad exposure to merchant underwriting and monitoring within our Risk Department.
• Is suited for candidates with an interest in fintech, risk management, acquiring, merchant underwriting, transaction monitoring.

Learning Scope:

• Develop a foundational understanding of the payments ecosystem (the flow of money between Customer, the Merchant, the Acquirer, and the Card Schemes).
• Become familiar with key concepts in payments, such as acquiring, alternative payment methods, point-of-sale (POS), chargeback, fraud, card scheme networks.
• Get familiarity with basic risk assessment frameworks: how to assess merchants, review websites, spot basic “red flags”.
• Strengthen analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills through practical tasks.
• Gain insights into how Underwriting/ Risk functions operate on a daily basis.

Tasks and Duties:

• Assist in the review of merchant applications under supervision.
• Maintain well-organized onboarding records and documentation within centralized merchant repositories.
• Support website assessment processes, including uploading merchant information and websites to internal automated tools (e.g. SimilarWeb, Ballerine, Webshield), extracting and saving generated reports.
• Collect and store relevant website data, such as terms and conditions, policies, checkout screenshots and other supporting materials in merchant files.
• Input merchant data into card schemes databases (inputter only, supervisor approval is mandatory).
• To monitor card schemes retroactive blackscreening alerts, and pass it to the supervisor for review.
• Provide general support to the Underwriting Team in day-to-day operational tasks.

Program Details:

• Duration: Up to 3 months (full-time).
• Start date: June 10, 2026.
• Location: Office-based in Cyprus (on-site required).
• Openings: 1-2 interns only.
• Stipend: €200 per week.
• Ideal Candidate: Curious students/grads from any background (business, econ, tech, or beyond)-prioritize eagerness to learn payments/risk, strong analytics, and a challenger mindset.

Hiring Process:

✔️ Application Screening - Applications will be reviewed and selected candidates will be invited to complete a video interview.

✔️ Video Assessment - You will record a max 30-minute video on our platform, answering a few questions designed to reveal your curiosity, ingenuity, and attention to detail.

✔️ Interviews - Successful candidates will be invited to a 30-minute interview with the Head of Talent Acquisition, followed shortly by a final conversation with the Head of Risk.
