Our Risk Services Practice provides an invaluable safeguard in today’s complex operating environment with insights and independent assurance. We work with clients to deliver business control to help them to protect and strengthen every aspect of their business from people to performance, systems to strategy, business plans to business resilience. We help clients manage, mitigate and control risks from potential cybersecurity breaches to possible breaks in the supply chain. We assess and prepare businesses by looking into their technology, finance, data analytics, regulatory requirements, data security and privacy, internal audit, and the third parties our clients rely on, to help clients deliver quality results and meet their strategic objectives.

As a risk management generalist at PwC, you will provide advisory and practical support to teams across a wide range of specialist risk and compliance areas.

The Risk Management and Finance Consultant will play a critical role in providing solutions to banking and capital markets clients on financial and non-financial risks, including transformative solutions through AI/technology and data analytics.  

This position demands expertise in risk management and finance.  Candidates having experiences in banking and capital markets regulatory requirements, and/or strong stakeholder management skills would also be relevant.  

The candidate should ideally exhibit the ability to implement effective transformation programs, be a team player, possess good communication abilities and emotional intelligence (EQ), and thrive in a high-performing environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Solutioning: 

• Collaborate effectively within teams to solve complex risk management, finance and reporting challenges, anchoring problem-solving approaches in strong knowledge of risk management and regulatory domains, particularly in MAS and/or international banking regulations. 

• Collaborate with technology partners to develop and deliver innovative solutions tailored to meet client needs, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and industry expertise. 

 

• Develop solutions using digital means, including data analytics, technology tools, and AI, to improve client risk management and reporting operations, ensuring compliance and enhancing operational efficiency. 

• Oversee system implementation projects where technology solutions are crafted to address business needs and regulatory requirements, ensuring relevancy and sustainability in banking risk management operations. 

 

Managing Engagements & Teams: 

• Lead high-performing teams to achieve outstanding results, fostering a strong team spirit and collaborative work environment. 

• Drive the implementation and management of transformation programs across various banking segments, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. 

• Execute engagements through comprehensive analysis and interpretation of regulatory and business requirements, facilitating workshops, report writing, presentations, user acceptance testing, and program management to deliver high-quality outcomes. 

Communication: 

• Demonstrate good communication skills, including the ability to write well, frame, articulate, and present points of view effectively to diverse audiences. 

• Distil complex information and various perspectives into clear, concise, and actionable insights for clients and team members. 

• Engage with stakeholders effectively by presenting written and verbal ideas and solutions in a persuasive and coherent manner, fostering cooperation and understanding. 

Qualifications: 

• Proven experience of at least 5 years in banking and capital markets risk management within a professional services or consulting environment or in the banking/capital markets industry. 

• Demonstrable expertise in managing transformation programs and navigating complex organizational change. 

• Strong ability to design solutions that integrate business and technology to meet the specific needs of banking clients. Comprehensive understanding of system implementation, especially in the integration of AI technologies to drive business transformation. 

• Good understanding of international and local banking regulatory requirements.
