Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) is dedicated to empowering youth and supporting community-based agriculture initiatives in Tacoma, WA. As the Rising Roots Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and coordination of the Rising Roots youth microgreens and urban agriculture workforce development program. This program provides hands-on training for youth ages 16–25, focusing on microgreens production, food systems, entrepreneurship, and life skills development. You will work on-site across greenhouse, garden, and community locations, reporting directly to the Director of Programs.
Key responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and facilitate weekly program sessions for youth participants.
• Support youth engagement, mentorship, and participation tracking throughout the program.
• Oversee planting, growing, and harvesting processes in microgreens and urban agriculture projects.
• Track program data and outcomes to ensure effective delivery and impact.
• Manage partnerships, outreach efforts, and program logistics with community stakeholders.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for youth development and workforce training.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about youth empowerment, social justice, and urban agriculture, with a commitment to supporting BIPOC communities and cultivating the next generation of farmers and entrepreneurs.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in program coordination or youth development
• Experience working with youth ages 16–25
• Experience working with diverse communities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
• Experience using Monday.com for project tracking or CRM
• Experience with microgreens production or urban agriculture programs
• Able to lift 30–40 lbs and perform standing, bending, and light labor indoors and outdoors
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between greenhouse, garden, and community sites
• Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience facilitating group sessions or trainings
• Availability for 2-3 evenings per week and occasional Saturdays during the 20-week program
