Revenue Cycle Billing Specialist 

Job Description 

The ideal candidate should have revenue cycle experience in a large vision care practice.  Must have the ability to work independently and be highly accountable for meeting the needs of the patients and the rest of the team.  Expected to juggle competing priorities to bring patient accounts to closure and working with various departments and team members. 

Job Duties and Expected Performances: 

Assist in all aspects of Insurance billing 

Review of patient accounts 

Patient phone calls 

Special projects across the company of 40+ Locations 

Communication with multiple departments and root cause analysis of patient issues 

Perform collection actions, including third-party appeals and resubmitting claims to third party payers 

Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances 

Reconcile carrier submissions, scrubbing of claims, edits, and rejection reports 

Professionalism in dealing with insurance companies/patients regarding accounts in verbal and written communication 

Performs all other duties as assigned 

Required: 

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) 

Three years of relevant revenue cycle experience 

Extensive organizational skills 

Minimum Qualifications 

Optometry and/or Ophthalmology office experience 

Experience with Microsoft platforms 

Patient experience focused 

Preferred Qualifications 

Eyefinity/Acuity experience 

Professional revenue cycle experience in a high growth environment
