Job Description: We’re seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to join our team at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, FL on an as needed (PRN) basis. The ideal candidate is someone who works well in a fast-paced team environment, detail-oriented, and willing to assist where necessary. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists the pharmacist by entering and/or filling prescriptions for medications for oral, rectal, topical, or injectible use
Creates medication labels and unit doses medications
Accurately and efficiently completes data entry of prescriptions
Demonstrates an ability to calculate figures and amounts relating to dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions ranging from the newborn to the elderly populations
Maintains inventory of supplies in pharmacy and reorders them accordingly
Professionally and efficiently interacts via email and telephone with customers, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals
Makes phone calls on behalf of the pharmacy to insurance companies, healthcare facilities, etc. for the purpose of problem solving and information gathering
Sells patient prescriptions to patient or patient representative utilizing the point of sale system
Prepares and processes records and reports including medications and supplies dispensed to patients or customers, computes charges, and either enters them into the computer, or forwards them to accounting/data processing/similar department
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current pharmacy technician licensure in the applicable state(s)
