A Restaurant Supervisor (hourly) oversees daily front-of-house, back-of-house operations and/or Off Premise including Cashier and Catering areas, ensuring high-quality service, guest satisfaction, and compliance with health regulations. If hired, positioning will be discussed during the interview and offer stages. They manage staff shifts, assist in training, handle customer complaints, and oversee inventory. Ideal candidates have proven supervisory experience in a fast-paced setting, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. Work week could potentially be 40 to 45 hours per week including weekends. Shifts could vary and will be discussed if interviewed.
TooJay’s Deli • Bakery • Restaurant is a Florida-based chain specializing in New York-style deli favorites, homemade comfort food, and scratch-made baked goods. Founded in 1981 on Palm Beach island, the brand currently operates 20 plus restaurants including a centralized Bakery, Commissary and Warehouse. Our locations are spread throughout South and Central Florida.
Key Responsibilities
• Operational Leadership: Manage daily shifts, including opening and closing procedures, and ensure smooth service flow.
• Customer Experience: Resolve customer complaints effectively and ensure "best in class" service standards.
• Staff Management: Lead and motivate staff, manage scheduling, and conduct training and onboarding.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor inventory levels for food, beverage, and cleaning supplies, and assist in identifying methods to reduce waste and control costs.
• Cash Management: Close out registers and balance cash drawers at the end of shifts.
Job Requirements
• Experience: Previous supervisory experience in the restaurant/retail and/or hospitality industry is preferred.
• Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and multitasking abilities.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Restaurant Supervisors often perform hands-on work in FOH, BOH and/or Cashier/Catering duties during peak times—while directing the work of other employees. They are usually responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all areas and ensuring equipment is functional.
