The duties of the Resident Building Services Inspector shall include, but not limited to, the following:

• Assist the Building Services Engineer on all aspects of supervision of Building Services work on site within the contracts and the upkeep and maintenance of site records
• Monitor labour resources, progress, materials and equipment used on site
• Responsible for the upkeep of site records including site record books and submission of all weekly returns to relevant parties as required.
• Liaise and coordinate with other contractors, utility companies, client and government departments on site matters including attendance of meetings
• Solve minor disputes/conflicts between various contractors, utility companies, client and government departments on site
• Ensure the correct materials and equipment are delivered to site by contractors and that only those approved materials and equipment are installed
• Assist in checking of any site measurements of building services works and payments claimed by contractors
• Assist in any site survey of existing building services installations during the construction stage, including submission of proposals for additional, alteration or repair works
• Inspect and witness the testing and commissioning of building services installations
• To liaise and arrange for handover of building services installations
• Monitor the progress of building services outstanding works and defects rectification works
• Assist the Employer’s Representative in checking the building services operating & maintenance manuals and as-fitted drawings submitted by contractors
• Carry out all such other duties as directed by the Building Services Engineer
• Monitor contractors’ environmental and safety implementation of the approved safety plan, risk assessment and method statement before commencement of relevant works.
• Issue stop work instruction, if necessary, and report all non-compliance of safety procedures immediately to the contractor’s representative and the consultant teams, and record in the site record book.
• Assist in accident/incident investigations.
• Attend weekly safety walk, safety meeting, safety training and site safety cycle on site in accordance to the client requirement.
• Verify contractors’ training records.
• Identify requests for action, reports and records contractors’ environmental and safety concerns and issues during daily routine walk.

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
• 8 years’ relevant experience in Hong Kong.
